2. General Information on Data Processing

2.1 Scope of Personal Data Processing

We process personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services. Personal data is processed regularly only with the user’s consent. An exception applies in cases where obtaining prior consent is not possible for practical reasons and the processing of data is permitted by law.

2.2 Legal Basis

Where we obtain the consent of the data subject for processing of personal data, Art. 6(1)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the legal basis.

When processing personal data necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Where processing of personal data is necessary to comply with a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Where processing is necessary to protect a legitimate interest of our company or a third party, and the interests, fundamental rights, and freedoms of the data subject do not override that interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

2.3 Data Deletion and Retention Period

Personal data is deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose for which it was stored no longer applies. Data may be retained beyond this point if required by European or national legislation through regulations, laws, or other provisions to which the controller is subject.

3. Provision of the Website and Server Log Files

3.1 Description and Scope of Data Processing

Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the accessing device.

The following data is collected:

Information about the browser type and version used
The user’s operating system
The user’s IP address
Date and time of access
Websites from which the user’s system reached our website
Websites accessed by the user’s system via our website

This data is also stored in log files. It is not stored together with other personal data of the user.

3.2 Legal Basis

The legal basis for the temporary storage of data and log files is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

3.3 Purpose of Data Processing

The temporary storage of the IP address is necessary to enable delivery of the website to the user’s device. For this purpose, the user’s IP address must be retained for the duration of the session.

Log files are stored to ensure the functionality of the website and to optimise the website and the security of our IT systems.

3.4 Retention Period

Data is deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. In the case of data collected to provide the website, this is when the session ends.

In the case of data stored in log files, this is after no more than seven days.

4. Use of Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files stored in or by the internet browser on the user’s computer system.

The data processed by cookies is necessary for the purposes stated to protect our legitimate interests and those of third parties pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

You can configure your browser to inform you when cookies are set, to allow cookies only in individual cases, to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and to enable automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed.

5.1 Description and Scope of Data Processing

Our website offers a free newsletter subscription. When signing up, your email address is transmitted to us.

Your consent is obtained during the registration process and reference is made to this privacy policy.

5.2 Legal Basis

The legal basis for processing data after newsletter registration is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, provided the user has given consent.

5.3 Purpose of Data Processing

The user’s email address is collected solely to deliver the newsletter.

5.4 Retention Period

Data is deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. The user’s email address is therefore retained for as long as the newsletter subscription is active.

5.5 Right to Unsubscribe

Users may cancel their newsletter subscription at any time. Each newsletter contains a corresponding unsubscribe link for this purpose.

6. Rights of Data Subjects

If your personal data is processed, you are a data subject within the meaning of the GDPR and you have the following rights against the controller:

You may request confirmation from the controller as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed by us.

6.2 Right to Rectification

You have the right to request rectification and/or completion from the controller if the personal data processed concerning you is inaccurate or incomplete.

6.3 Right to Erasure

You may request that the controller erase personal data concerning you without undue delay.

6.4 Right to Restriction of Processing

You have the right to request that the controller restrict the processing of your personal data.

6.5 Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive the personal data concerning you that you have provided to the controller in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

6.6 Right to Object

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you that is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

You have the right to withdraw your data protection consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of that consent prior to its withdrawal.

6.8 Right to Lodge a Complaint with a Supervisory Authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement, if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR.

7. SSL Encryption
